Photos, a walkthrough video and a 360 tour

Keep your photos in one place, show them on your website, make a walkthrough video and a 360 tour.

Photos is an add-on. If you don’t see it in the menu, ask Pixelvile to switch it on. Owners and managers can use it.

Add your photos

  1. Open Photos and press Add photos, or drop photos onto the box. JPEG, PNG and WebP photos work.
  2. Each photo is made smaller on your phone or computer before it is sent, in three sizes, so your website loads fast. The camera’s details, including where the photo was taken, are left out.
  3. Type a description for each photo: what someone who can’t see it should know, like “Balcony with a view of the mountains at sunrise”. Add a caption if you want words on the photo.

Choose the order and the walkthrough

  • Drag photos to change their order, or use the arrows on each photo. Your website shows them in this order.
  • Tick In the walkthrough on the photos you want in your walkthrough. A photo needs its description before it can be ticked.
  • Preview the walkthrough plays it as your website will: about 5 seconds a photo, fading from one to the next with a slow pan and zoom. Visitors can pause it, and phones set to reduce motion get still photos.

Make a video

  1. Press Make a video and choose Wide (for your website or YouTube) or Tall (for Instagram Reels and WhatsApp Status).
  2. Choose whether it starts with a title (your business name, which you can change) and shows captions.
  3. Press Make the video and keep the tab open while it records: it takes as long as the video lasts. Then press Download.

The video is made in your browser and saved on your device. Chrome, Edge and Safari make MP4 files, which WhatsApp and Instagram take. Some browsers can only make WebM files; the screen tells you if so.

360 photos and the tour

Take a 360 photo with your phone’s 360, panorama or photo sphere mode. The picture should be at least twice as wide as it is tall. Open the 360 photos tab and press Add 360 photos, describe each one and tick In the tour. Preview the tour lets you look around by dragging, or with the arrow keys. On a phone, visitors can also press Phone motion to look around by moving the phone.

On your website

Your Pixelvile website reads your photos from here, so a photo you add, remove or move shows there within a minute. For another website, the On your website tab has the code for the walkthrough and the 360 tour to give whoever looks after it. Ask Pixelvile to add that website’s address to your allowed sites first.
